Fayer, who is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Nuvei, a Canadian based fintech company will compete in the IMSA championship for a second consecutive year with the North Carolina based team following his debut at the Canadian Tyre Motorsport Park in the summer of 2025.
Fayer, who also competed with United Autosports for a full season entry in the Asian Le Mans Series alongside ex Formula One driver Paul di Resta and Le Mans winner, Ben Hanley said:
“An incredible team, a world-class series, and a fast car made it an easy decision to commit through 2027. Sebring showed exactly what this group is capable of, and I’m looking forward to what we’ll do the rest of this year and into next. The best is still ahead of us.”
In 2026, with confirmed McLaren Hypercar driver, Mikkel Jensen and IndyCar reserve driver, Hunter McElrea, the trio were victorious at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring securing not only the team’s first Sebring win, but the first IMSA podium for the Canadian driver. Fayer, who only started racing again in 2025 following a fifteen-year hiatus where he raced in Formula Atlantic, open-wheel racing and the Canadian Touring Car Championship in the early 2000’s, has quickly established himself as not only a race winner but already a serious challenger for the IMSA title.

“We’re elated to have Phil continue with United Autosports for another year,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO & Team Principal. “Watching Phil’s development over the last year has been incredible to see and we’re proud to have him as part of the team. There aren’t many drivers out there that could win a major endurance race such as Sebring in their first full season of IMSA. Phil shares the same passion as we do and we love being on this journey with him as he realises his ambitions within the sport.”

Fayer, with McElrea and Jensen who are currently third in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship will be fighting for another podium finish this coming weekend at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen at Watkins Glen International. The race can be streamed here on Peacock from 12:10PM EST Sunday 28th June.
