Hiroshi Hamaguchi - multi-race winning GT3 driver - is joining McLaren Automotive and United Autosports for a one-off special at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this June.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the McLaren GT programme in the Le Mans 24 Hour race,” says Hamaguchi. “The first time coming back since their memorable victory back in 1995. I have only done GT3 sprint races in La Sarthe but managed to win the race twice which shows I have a good compatibility with the track.”

Hamaguchi has been racing GTs since 2010, achieving success with McLaren in the Le Mans Cup and GT Asia during that time. The Bronze-graded driver has also celebrated race wins and podiums in the FIA Motorsport Games GT Cup (2019) and Fanatec GT World Challenge European Endurance Cup (2021).

Most recently, Hamaguchi contested the 2023 Michelin Le Mans Cup GT3 class, celebrating on the podium in Le Castellet and rounding off the season with a win in Portimão.

“It’s great to welcome Hiroshi to our Le Mans team,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “He has a strong history of GT racing, has celebrated GT success with McLaren and wants to make history at Le Mans. We are united in our goals."

“With the experience of United Autosports,” says Hamaguchi, “I am confident we will be smiling after the race.”
