RDA, the UK’s leading R&D and Intellectual Property (IP) consultancy, is continuing its partnership with United Autosports, racing partner of McLaren Automotive, for a third consecutive year, across the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and European Le Mans Series (ELMS).
Intellectual Property Services
In 2024, RDA expanded its service portfolio by formally launching a dedicated Intellectual Property Services division, helping companies protect and commercialise the value of their innovations.
Just as elite motorsport teams invest in innovation to stay ahead, RDA works with UK businesses to help them recognise, secure, and monetise the intangible assets they create - from inventions and designs to brand identity and proprietary knowledge.
“The age of IP is upon us,” says Kevin Auchoybur, RDA Managing Director. “In today’s economy, innovation without protection is like racing without a helmet - bold, but very dangerous. We’re proud to continue this partnership with United Autosports, as it has always felt like a natural fit. 2025 was never really a question - it was just the next lap in a race we are both committed to winning.”
RDA branding has already been unveiled on the rear end plates of the #59 and #95 McLaren GT3 EVOs for the eight-round 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
Creating opportunities for British businesses
This year, endurance racing is making a big comeback to the UK, with the 4 Hours of Silverstone set to roar into action on Sunday, 14th September 2025 as part of the European Le Mans Series Calendar. United Autosports will have three entries across the LMP2 and LMGT3 categories, with RDA - a company committed to innovation in British business - on board as a partner for that event, with branding across the United Autosports race fleet.
“Endurance racing and innovation go hand in hand,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “RDA’s IP services allow British businesses to not only develop ideas but also to defend and grow their value. We’re proud to help spotlight their work on a global stage.”
Intangible assets now account for over 70% of a UK business’s value, yet many companies fail to identify or protect them, effectively giving their IP away to competitors. RDA’s IP strategies help companies:
- Increase competitive advantage by securing exclusive rights
- Unlock tax relief via HMRC’s Patent Box scheme
- Protect against infringement and avoid costly legal battles
- Attract investment by building strong, future-proof portfolios
With expertise in IP audits, portfolio development, and patent strategy, RDA supports businesses throughout the full innovation lifecycle — from ideation to commercialisation.
The next race for the podium-placing United Autosports WEC crew is the 6 Hours of Imola on Sunday 20th April. Stay up to date on social @unitedautosports.
