How and why did you get into motorsport? My dad has always been into motorsport. He raced motorbikes so I was born into it really. I had a quad bike from four years old then got a kart when I was 11.
Who is your favourite driver and why? Mine is a rider rather than a driver - Valentino Rossi. His success and popularity is incredible.
What is your favourite racetrack and why? Probably Spa but Le Mans, Road Atlanta and Silverstone would be up there. Spa is just such a cool circuit to drive. Eau Rouge is so good and the middle sector is fast and flowing too.
What is your best racing memory and why? I think 2016, my first year with United Autosports, and first full season for quite a few years. I felt my career as a racing driver had finished, but that really kicked things off again. I couldn’t be more grateful to the team.
What is your greatest racing achievement to date? Getting to compete at Le Mans this year is probably my biggest achievement. Wining the ELMS LMP3 title last year is up there, along with winning the British Formula Ford Championship and Festival in 2008.
How have you been preparing for your first 24-hour race? I’ve been training a bit harder than usual and watching plenty of onboards etc. I don’t want to overthink it too much though.
What advice have people given you ahead of the race? The best advice I’ve had is to get in and get on with it, don’t overthink and believe in what I can do.
