Entrotech - creator and provider of advanced material solutions, including sustainable paint technology AERO - is now a minority shareholder in United Autosports, lead by Entrotech CEO and founder James McGuire.
“It’s great to have Entrotech onboard with Jim McGuire who, after nearly eight years of racing together, is well and truly part of the team,” says Zak Brown, United Autosports Chairman.
For American businessman McGuire, the partnership comes during a time of landmark US expansion for United Autosports, with the upcoming Rolex 24 at Daytona commencing United’s first full season in the WeatherTech IMSA SportsCar Championship, and a new American headquarters recently established in Mooresville, North Carolina.
“The technology created by Entrotech is invaluable to our performance on track,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO, “and with the addition of Jim to our Investor Advisory Board, we can draw on his wealth of experience off-track - together with Phil Burgan, Joe Henderson and Brendan P. Keegan - as we navigate this exciting period of trans-Atlantic expansion.”
It also signals a new era in the motorsport paddock for McGuire, who has officially retired from racing.
“I have spent the last eight years driving for United Autosports in three different continents with amazing co-drivers, engineers, mechanics, staff and my long-lost Dad “Flower”,” says McGuire, “the entire experience has been unparalleled! The team’s pursuit of exceptional is fantastic.”
“Unfortunately, my shunt in Aragon in August caused significant damage to my spine that precludes me from driving again,” continues McGuire. “That said I now feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to continue on with the United Autosports Family in a different capacity; Team owner.”
“Zak and Richard invited me to become part of the ownership group and I could not be more excited and confident for our future as a team as we continue to grow with the unwavering goal to be the premier global sports car team. I will strive to be a positive influence with the team in any way I can assist. Looking forward to an amazing 2024 in WEC, IMSA, and ELMS!”
Entrotech joins United Autosports co-founders Zak Brown and Richard Dean, and Investor Advisory Board members Phil Burgan, Executive Chairman of Maria Mallaband Care Group, Joe Henderson, CEO of ATTIS Insurance, and Brendan P. Keegan, Chairman, CEO and President of Merchants Fleet.
United Autosports will also continue in its role as proud UK agent of AERO by PPG.
