Juan Manuel Correa - multi-FIA Formula 2 podium placer and European Le Mans Series race winner - will make his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut with United Autosports USA later this month.
The American-Ecuadorian racing driver - who, in addition to his single seater career in FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2, has contested numerous sportscar endurance races in the ELMS and WEC, notably taking victory at the 2022 4 Hours of Portimao - will contest the remaining four endurance races in the 2025 IMSA calendar with United Autosports USA (Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Tirerack.com Battle on the Bricks and Motul Petit Le Mans).
"I'm thrilled to be back racing stateside after an extended period in Europe,” says Correa. “IMSA has been on my radar for a while, so it is exciting to join the grid for the remaining endurance events. I'm eager to start working with my new teammates and team, I am confident we will find shared success.”
The 25-year-old will team up with Nick Boulle and Ben Hanley in the #2 United Autosports USA ORECA 07, taking the Silver-graded seat over from Garnet Patterson who was signed for a one-off appearance in Daytona.
“It is great to welcome Juan to the IMSA team,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “I’ve been keeping an eye on his progress in endurance racing and, with an ELMS race win and solid results in the WEC, it’s clear he will be a strong addition to our line-up. Our #2 crew had huge potential at Daytona and with the addition of Juan and a bit more luck on our side, I look forward to celebrating their IMSA successes this season.”
