United Autosports will enter two Ligier JS P4 sports cars at the opening round of the LMP3 Cup Championship at Donington Park in April.
The Ligier JS P4 will make its racing debut in the UK as the LMP3 Cup Championship enters its second year. The Ligier JS P4 was first unveiled during the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours by Onroak Automotive President, Jacques Nicolet and was on display in the UK for the first time at the Autosport International Show in January. It has since been made eligible for the ACO-backed LMP3 Cup Championship in the UK.
The Ligier JS P4 is the brand new entry-level sports prototype in the Ligier family. It has been designed for new drivers who wish to discover what driving a prototype is like. The LMP3 Cup Championship is the first British prototype championship endorsed by the ACO – organisers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The opening round of the LMP3 Cup Championship will be held on the 21-22 April at Donington Park. The drivers for United Autosports’ two Ligier JS P4s are still to be announced. The championship will also visit Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Snetterton and the legendary Spa Francorchamps.
Richard Dean, Team Owner and Managing Director, United Autosports:
“I’m really pleased we can debut the Ligier JS P4 at Donington Park. It is the perfect entry level car for drivers who want to get a taste of prototype racing and the LMP3 Cup is the perfect platform to do that on. We will be announcing our drivers soon, but I’m hopeful the category will take off in the way the LMP3 class has.”
