- ELMS LMP3 driver to make American race debut with United Autosports
- Cauhaupe to race with Niklas Kruetten in #2 Ligier JS P320
- Third driver still to be confirmed
United Autosports are delighted to confirm that Edouard Cauhaupe will join their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship LMP3 team for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen.
Edouard currently races for United Autosports in the European Le Mans Series and will be joining their IMSA team as he makes his American racing debut.
The French driver will be joining Niklas Kruetten in the #2 Ligier JS P320 for the six-hour race at Watkins Glen on 26-27 June. Their teammate in the LMP3 car is still to be confirmed.
United Autosports will be making their LMP3 debut in America at Watkins Glen, having already begun to establish an LMP2 base out in the United States. The team will once again be running an Oreca 07 for Jim McGuire, Wayne Boyd and Guy Smith at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in the LMP2 class.
Edouard Cauhaupe:
“I’m really excited to take part in the IMSA race at Watkins Glen. Thank you to United Autosports for having the trust in me. It’s a dream for me to race in the United States so I’m really happy and I will do my best to win this race. I’m looking forward to racing with Niklas too. He is my competitor in the ELMS but he is fast and I am happy to share the car with him.”
Zak Brown:
“I’m really pleased to welcome Edouard to our IMSA LMP3 team. He has shown great pace in the three races he has done with us so far in Europe, so there’s no reason why he can’t bring that across to our American team as we make our LMP3 debut over there.”
Richard Dean:
“Given that we have now established an LMP2 base over in America, it made sense for us to make the first steps into racing in LMP3 over there too. I’m sure Edouard will work well with Niklas to get the best out of the Ligier at Watkins Glen.”
